OTEDOLA DONATES 5BIL TO DAUGHTER, DJ CUPPY’S FOUNDATION, SEE WHAT DANGOTE GAVE

Billionaire business mogul, Mr. Femi Otedola, on Sunday night, donated a sum of N5 billion to save the children against acute malnutrition in the Northeastern part of Nigeria.
Mr. Otedola made the donation at the inaugural his daughter’s DJ Cuppy Foundation Gold Gala held at Transcorp Hotel in Abuja.
Otedola made the donation through his first daughter, Miss Tolani Otedola.
While speaking at the event, the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, said Otedola’s donation to save the children was the largest donation to charity in Nigeria today.
According to him, “We don’t need billionaires or millionaires to start doing something, the likes of DJ Cuppy who are already doing something that affects lives is a good example.”
On his part, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who also donated N100 million, said that the country needs more Nigerians with a big heart to give back to the needy, saying the government should not be allowed to do it alone as the government already has a lot of challenges.
He wondered why people find it so difficult to give out money to the needy, stressing that the more one gives the more God blesses the giver.
Alhaji Dangote stressed that with Otedola’s donation, he had joined the league of wealthy men.
“We have more than 50, 000 orphans in Borno State. We are working so hard to make sure that most of these children are eating well and equally going to school. I will like to support these poor little children in Borno State with the sum N100 million,” Dangote said.
Earlier, Florence Otedola, Also known as DJ Cuppy, said that over the years, her passion in tackling issued surrounding young Nigerians grew as she got more involved with the work of charity partners to make a change.
She stressed that the work and impact of various intervention programmes by Save the Children in Nigeria could not be understated, especially after her visit to the Maiduguri Stabilisation Centre in Borno State.
The visit, according to her, was a life-changing moment, as it pointed to the fact that there is more to be done collectively to support the goals in making life of every Nigerian count.
Ms Otedola stressed that ever since her visit, her determination to save Nigerian children has grown.
She appealed to good-hearted Nigerians to join the fight and save the children, especially in war-torn Northeast.
Dignitaries at the event include Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, who was represented by Senator Gabriel Susan, former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Mr. Femi Otedola, Mr Aliko Dangote, Borno State Governor, Mr. Babagana Zulum, former military administrator of Lagos state, Gen. Buba Marwa, as well as Ogun State Governor, Mr. Dapo Abiodun, among others.
