ISWAP STAGES ATTACK IN KANAMMA, YOBE COMMUNITY WITH MILITARY BASE

ISWAP has staged a new attack on Kanamma town in Yobe State, Northeast Nigeria.

Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) has launched an attack on the small desert town of Kanamma in Yobe State Northeast Nigeria.

Kanamma, which is situated along the border with Niger Republic is the main town of Yunusari local government and the location where the Nigerian Taliban was based between early and mid 2000s, the group was the predecessor of Boko Haram.

The Nigerian Army is known to have a Forward Operating Base in Kanamma.

Yunusari was the destination for some of the residents who fled ISWAP’s days-long siege in Geidam town.
