APC ELDERS CHALLENGE AKEREDOLU OVER NEGLIGENCE OF PARTY NASS CANDIDATES

Elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State yesterday asked Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to lead the campaigns of all the candidates for the National Assembly elections in order to dispel insinuations of working for opposition candidates. The elders led by former Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, former Chairman of the party, Hon Isaacs Kekemeke, former Chairman of Alliance for Democracy (AD), Chief Makinde Oguntona and former Commissioner, Chief Bode Sunmonu said the governor, as the leader of the party, should lead the campaigns of all the candidates irrespective of the factions they belonged.

The elders in a communiqué after the end of the meeting held in Akure, said the governor leading the campaigns would show the doubting Thomas that the governor was not working for rival Action Alliance (AA). Although the leaders admitted that governor has dispelled the insinuation that he was funding the AA, they, however, said “the governor should campaign for candidates of APC for Ondo North senatorial seat, Ondo South senatorial seat, Akoko Northeast/Akoko Northwest, Akoko Southwest and Akoko Southeast and Idanre/Ifedore federal constituencies.
